Youth are a very important part of church life. We want to equip our young people with a strong faith, a passionate love for God and an ability to serve Him. This involves providing activities specific to their own age group and opportunities for them to take their place in the wider church.
We have 3 weekly youth groups:
Sunday Mornings age 10-14’s (ish)
Meet on a Sunday morning during our worship service and gives young people their own space to get to grips with faith in an engaging way.
Rise For Young People age 11-14 – Thursdays in term time. 7.30-9pm
Rise is a Youth Group for young people age 11-14. We play lots of games and chat together. It’s a great place for chilling out and all of our leaders are friendly and enjoy talking to the young people about their week, their ambitions and things they might be worried about.
TNT For Young people age 14-18, Tuesdays in term time. 7.30-9pm
For TNT we meet together in someone’s home (email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out where we are meeting each week). This group is designed to encourage young people age 14+ as they explore Christianity and want to develop and deepen their faith. The group enjoy lots of socials and trips, we organise youth Worship events together and love welcoming new people to be part of the TNT family. We also LOVE cake and biscuits!
They also have the following activities:
Social nights – we organise monthly social events such as films nights, ‘bonfire and marshmallows’ and indoor climbing.
Youth Weekends away – we regularly take our young people away for a weekend of team building, discipleship and plenty of fun.
Our young people also regularly attend festivals and other trips in the UK and abroad. Recent trips have included South Africa with Operation Mobilisation, Teenstreet in Germany, and Soul Survivor.
We are keen to see young people develop their abilities and they are encouraged to take an active role within church. Currently we have young people involved in Sunday Services (eg. worship team, bible reading, speaking, serving communion), welcome team, children’s work, multi-media and youth work.
