Who Leads Hope?

We have a leadership team of 3 people.

They are:

Derek Hughes
Derek has been our full-time church leader since 2010. He runs regularly, is addicted to reading and supports Newcastle United. He writes about effective preaching at freshpreaching.com.

Emma Bebb
Emma is married to Malcolm and has three children. She lives on a farm in Wales. She enjoys creating things on a pottery wheel, meeting friends for coffee and reading. She has been on the leadership at Hope Church since 2013.

Tony Gray
Tony has been an attendee at Hope Church since 1986. He is now retired and volunteers as a Samaritan as well as enjoying gardening. He is married to Mary and they have one son and one granddaughter.

In addition to Derek we have 2 other members of staff:

Helen Evans – Community & Outreach Facilitator
Helen’s role is to enable Hope Church to serve the community more effectively. She represents Hope Church on a number of Oswestry boards, is involved with CAP Job Club and Debt advice and organises PurpleFish events. She leads Osbless – our annual volunteer week for Oswestry.

Cat Davies – Children & Youth Worker
Cat leads our children and youth work. She runs various clubs during the week for children and young people. She is also very active in helping children and young people grow in their faith and provides mentoring and runs faith based groups to help with this. She also plans lots of special events during the year for young people and leads our fantastic team of volunteers.
