A regular attendance of adults of all ages and young people aged 0-18 meet between 10.45 & 12.15 every Sunday morning. Gathering together on a Sunday morning is when we experience God together and listen to some engaging and challenging teaching which helps us relate the Bible to our lives. You may be new to church or been to loads but here are some do’s and don’ts for when you come to Hope Church Oswestry.
DON’T… ..worry about what you wear
Although no speedos please! Most people dress casually on Sunday.
..worry if your kids make a noise. We love kids, we love to produce them, we love to include them. They are part of the family. We run groups during the service for those aged 0-14. We also run a youth bible discussion on Tuesday evenings.
..be afraid to ask questions. The truth will stand up to scrutiny. Speak to one of the leaders if you want to meet up for coffee to chat things through.
..be surprised if you enjoy yourself. The preaching is interesting and relevant to 21st century life and our services take a relaxed and informal approach.
..be surprised if God speaks to you. Our experience is that God is active and willing to be involved in our lives. He loves you and wants to transform you, guide you and empower you for life. So come open and ready to meet God.
DO… ..Feel free to take part as much or as little as you want
Some people just come to have a look. Many want to come and get stuck in straight away. Most like to sing. Some like to listen. Just relax and take things at your own pace.
..get to know people. We have coffee after every service so please stay and chat. We also have midweek discussion groups where people get to know each other more.
..ask questions. Ask why people come, how long they’ve been coming, how they became Christians…
..expect to be challenged. Jesus came to shape and transform us. None of us are perfect. We are all invited to grow and develop as God works in our lives.
